Step into the role of a building contractor in a whimsical, tile-laying game where you’re commissioned to construct an extravagant castle for the eccentric King Ludwig II of Bavaria—one room at a time. Inspired by the majestic Neuschwanstein and other legendary castles, your task is to create the grandest castle ever, all while catering to the King's ever-shifting demands.
Gameplay Overview
Each player begins with a modest foyer, gradually expanding their castle by adding unique rooms. In each round, one player takes on the role of the Master Builder. This player sets the prices for a selection of rooms that the other players can purchase. Once the purchases are made, the Master Builder selects from the remaining rooms for their own castle.
Every new room contributes to your castle’s overall score, with points awarded based on the room's size, type, and placement. Completing a room—ensuring all doorways connect to other parts of the castle—earns you one of seven special rewards that provide bonus points.
After each round, the role of Master Builder rotates to a new player, and a fresh set of rooms is offered. The game continues through several rounds until it comes to a close. At that point, additional points are awarded for meeting bonus goals, having the most popular rooms, and being particularly adept at fulfilling the King's unpredictable whims. The player with the highest castle points is declared the winner.
