The shorelines of the Pelagrino Sea are home to hundreds of varieties of harmless crustaceans. The worst a beach stroller is likely to experience is a nip of the toe. Not so with the piranha crab. These crabs are the size of a pie plate, and unlike their harmless cousins, both of the piranha crab’s claws are over-large and exceptionally strong. Individually, a single piranha crab delivers a bloody but usually non-lethal wound. A swarm of a dozen crabs can reduce a man to a grisly skeleton within minutes.
